Eligibility
The PSP accepts graduates from Departments of Humanities of Greek Universities, as well as corresponding Departments of foreign equivalent institutions abroad, in accordance with the provisions of applicable legislation.
Final-year students of the above departments may also apply, provided that they have submitted a Certificate of Completion of Studies with an overall degree grade of at least “very good” before the date of the Programme Committee meeting to evaluate applications. In this case, a copy of their degree or diploma is submitted before the start date of the programme. In any case, those selected must submit all the necessary supporting documents by the end of registration.
Applications may also be submitted by Greek graduates of foreign institutions that are not yet included in the National Register of Recognized Institutions Abroad (DOATAP). In this case, applicants submit a solemn declaration regarding the possession of a degree. Those selected must provide documentary evidence that they have taken the required steps so that their degree and the corresponding Institution are to be included in the National Register of Recognized Institutions Abroad (DOATAP) until the completion of their studies. Otherwise, the student will be removed from the programme, without any claim by the student for a refund of the money he/she deposited and no type of certificate of participation in the PSP will be granted.
Application materials
Candidates from countries within the EU submit the following supporting documents electronically:
- Completed and signed standard application.
- Photocopy of identity card (both sides) or passport.
- Certified copies of academic degrees and transcripts or a certified certificate of completion of studies in the English language.
- Certified copy of an English language certificate, at least level B2 of the CEFR (Cambridge – First Certificate in English (FCE), Michigan – ECCE (Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English), IELTS – score 5.5–6.0, TOEFL iBT – score 72–94, State Language Certificate (KPG) – level B2). Graduates of English-speaking universities or students who come from countries where the official language of the state is the language in which the courses are conducted and who prove, with school documents, that they have attended the courses in that language are exempt from the obligation to present a language certificate. In case the above requirements for good knowledge of the English language are not met, candidates are subject to a written examination by a faculty member appointed by the Coordinating Committee (C.C.) in order to establish proficiency in the English language.
- A covering letter (maximum 500 words), in English, demonstrating the applicant’s motivation, academic/professional background and professional work.
- Curriculum vitae in English (preferred format: Europass).
- Two letters of recommendation in English. At least one must be written by a faculty member of the University from which the student has graduated or will graduate. The letters of recommendation must contain the contact information of the signatories.
- Evidence of scientific, research or professional experience (publications, participation in a research programme, relevant professional employment) submitted in English.
Required supporting documents for candidates coming from countries OUTSIDE the EU (the required supporting documents will be updated annually according to the admission methodology of the collaborating universities):
- Completed and signed standard application.
- Digitized passport document.
- Certified copies of academic degree(s) and transcripts or certified certificate of completion of studies with an official translation into English.
- Certified copy of the English language certificate, at least level B2 of the CEFR ( Cambridge – First Certificate in English (FCE), Michigan – ECCE ( Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English ), IELTS – IELTS score 5.5 – 6.0, TOEFL iBT – Score 72–94, State Language Certificate (KPG) – Level B2). Graduates of English-speaking universities or students coming from countries where the official language of the state is the language in which the courses are conducted and who prove, with school documents, that they have attended the courses in the specific language, are exempt from the obligation to present a language certificate. For countries participating in the Hague Convention, all study documents submitted for recognition/equivalence must bear the Hague Notarization from the competent authorities of the issuing country. Study documents from Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Cyprus must bear the Hague Notarization, while other EU Member States are exempt. Documents for which the Hague Notarization is required must be submitted by the end of the first semester of study. In case of failure to submit the necessary certificates by the end of the first semester, only a certificate of attendance will be issued.
For countries that are NOT parties to the Hague Convention, study documents must be additionally authenticated or submitted together with Declarations of Authenticity from the competent institutions of the respective country of origin.
The candidate’s full name (surname, first name) must be written identically (including spelling) on all submitted documents. Any discrepancy/omission will result in the application not being processed.

The candidates who obtain the highest overall score are selected up to the maximum number of participants in the Programme.
